We Northern Californians are rarely fortunate enough to see the Moon actually rise or set. The mountains and clouds don't allow us to see the horizon. But while on vacation on Maui, I was overjoyed to get to see this beautiful and vastly underrated phenomenon. Despite an unfortunate incident involving a dark condo at 4 am and some sliding glass windows, I managed to make it down to the beach in time. This was one of many photos I took that morning. Of course, we didn't technically see the Moon "set," because the island of Lanaii got in the way. But it was pretty close. A little while before the Moon was gone, sunrise began to approach. So for a few minutes, the sky was a deep azure as the Moon blazed orange. It was incredible.
Sorry, Alycia, I'm not posting that other picture. The one I sent you. XD
Upsizing pictures will inevitably reduce the image quality. If you don't upsize too much, the difference won't be too noticeable. Proper use of a sharpen filter will usually help afterwards--but don't overdo it. The best way to ensure good image quality is to take the largest photos possible. Then you can crop and/or downsize as necessary, and still have a large image.
The only problem there is that large images fill up memory cards a lot faster. Hooray for multi-gigabyte memory cards! Or...256 megs, like mine. Still sufficient.
I wouldn't have known that the full moon would set visibly that night, or that it was a spectacular sight, if not for the manager of the condo. He saw me taking photos of sunsets...every night...every few minutes...and commented to my father that we should take a look at the moonset.
A Gigue, I mean, gig, lol, is ... just bearly enough for a day's worth of shooting with 8mp. ... and then we feel sorry for those with the /medium format/, 22mp ... [shudder]
Well, if you shoot all the photos at full size and best quality, yeah, your SLR's gonna chew through memory like a ravenous pig. I was talking mainly about the rest of us...
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.

o moj boze! mam siekere w glowie
You got my hopes up.
*facepalm*
But I do wish I had witnessed a moon set while in Hawaii. Then again, waking up at four in the morning isn't that appealing to me. Wasn't, anyway.
And do you want to tell me how to not make the pictures look so gross when resizing? Other than... bigger?
